Powerstroke or Cummins are the way to go. For 7-9 G you can prolly get a decent '93-99 Ford or Cummins

no matter what gonna get great gas milage. 100% gas milage out of the ford or the dodge if ur gonna get a diesel, u need to learn its fuel milage

and as far as a computer controlled, only dodge u will get for ur price range is a 98.5-02 vp trucks.

as far as fuel milage, im close to 500 hp, and if i take it easy on my truck, ive gotten 23.6mpg out of it. good luck with ur choice

If you want computer controlled and still older, you'd have to go with the Power Stroke. Cummins wasn't computer controlled until 98. Both are good motors, can't go wrong in either. What are you going to be dong with the truck? That would be a major factor in a decision for me to choose between trucks.

My non-computer controlled 12v cummins would run circles around my computer controlled 7.3 psd in terms of both mileage and speed/power. My 1999 psd 6spd got about 20mpg city. My 1997 1-ton dually cummins with a fuel plate and a fw other mods got 22city and 26highway.
