Smoke is just wasted power, fuel, and egt's. You cant put a programmer on a mechanical engine like the 12v it's all mechanical stuff you do to it.

There's more to life then smoking, although it can be fun :)

For your budget, you're best going with a 2003.5+ Common Rail (also known as a 3rd Gen). :)

I would go with a c-rail for sure put a air dog on it for insurance. as far a smoke when you stand on the pedal at must all you want is a haze that you can barley see

Anything 24v and up will pretty much NEED an airdog
