Thats according to the stock dash computer too, not calculating it out in actual fuel used...

Finding the dodge I want is near impossible in my location, and this one looks awesome, I read with an intake pipe and straight pipe the exhaust Ill get 2-4mpg increase, which is really good.

Ya that's cute and all (2mpg) but plenty of cummins guys tow 30k lbs daily and get 12-16 mpg highway and they are pushing 1000lbs of torque unlike a stock dmax. I know lots of guys with mildly modded 12v getting 16mpg highway with 15-20k lbs.

Yea thats only a free gallon every 4-8 gallons you use I would worry about it. If I ain't mistaken the D-Max out powered the Cummins from the factory almost every year they have been in production. There is nothing wrong with the Duramax diesel. We don't even know what ZX10Aviator is doing with the truck but I am sure it will do anything he needs to do with it.

I have a buddy that had an 07 d-max pulling a 7 x 14 enclosed trailer loaded with construction eqiupment, he was getting 17 pulling the trailer and around 21 without it, mind you he has a heavy right foot. This was the classic body style right before the dpf

I have all trucks and my 2004.5 LLY duramax dominates all categories by far, no comparison. They tow and pull better than a cummins hence they have more horse and torque. Stock truck category is hands down duramax.Good call on the 2005 dont listen to idiots that think it cant pull listen to people that have all trucks (cummins, powerstroke, duramax.)

i have to disagree here. ive never seen a dmax, make more torque than a cummins after there bombed. that is what a cummin is known for.

and as far as getting 12mpg, it could just be the lie-o-meter beign off. several things could be contributing to that. when i was at ranger, there stock d-maxes were getting 13-14 pulling a gvw of 26k crossing the scales
