Drove a gasser all during high school 'til I had an accident , loved it to death but soon after got my diesel and haven't looked back since. I still drive my dads' gasser around the ranch a bit but it always feels like it's dragging something. DFL!

ill always have a gasser as i type i'm restoring a 74 c10. ill always have my hot rods but ill always have my big 4wd diesel too. i went and traded my little s10 for a k5 with a 6.2 and after driving it theres nothing like it. but not even a week later i went and bout an old junker c10 to restore cause theres also nothing like the sound of a 350s exhaust beating off the pavement

I know I'm a Ford guy but look at what the diesels can do performance wise compared to todays sports cars. A couple issues back in Deisel power mag they compaired a new Z28 camero and a new Duramx. With just a programmer the truck was just as fast as the Z28 in the quater mile. Look how much more we can do in a truck compaied to a sports car. Diesel trucks rule.

started with a F-350 v-10 tonner - -decent truck, wouldnt turn for nothin and strained to push snow all the time and got about 3 mpg pushin - moved to a f-250 6.0 stroke, a lot better than the gasser by far but after a banks exaust and a live wire tuner that baby would push snow and pull a gooseneck and wonder when we were "really gonna do some work" a new F-550 6.0 dump stroker soon followed with the immediate tuner and exhaust upgrades, traded both the 250 and 550 in on an Ford LCF 4.5 ltr v-6 stroke {no tuners available} but dumped the turbo right into a 5 inch custom stack and loved it - pushed my regular 9"2" Boss plows like it was its job {and only a 2wd} - and the 26 mpg.........................
big family fued and dismantled the family business and here we are - -my wife and I starting over with a new business - - - - we bought a 94 Dodge tonner 4x4 with 124k on the ticker and im looking forward to tweakin the hell out of this ol girl and while i love my strokes this dodge is really growing on me
so other than not having a diesel in my wrangler {but give me some time, } i dont think i will honestly buy another gas powered truck - - in a yr or so im going to upgrade mommas hybrid honda to a TDI VW then my life will be complete hahahahaha

like some of you guys out there, i've been around diesel of some kind all of my life. My dad has been a diesel mechanic forever had his own shop for 20 yrs until my parents divorced then things went south works out of a service truck now in 1978 my dad and myself installed a isuzu 6 banger diesel in a1975 hi boy ford over 100 hrs of retro fitting labor involved thats when diesel in a pickup became the coolest thing there was for me. I still own that truck has a million miles or more the engine has had two major rebuilds and waiting for the third still starts and runs but smokes like a freight train i could put it to work fogging for mosquitoes here in the summer. and i still love that truck.

man post some pics of that beast !!! it sounds like an awesome rig - - -ive always wanted to take a 50's era truck {old international, jimmy dodge powerwagon} and do a dieselswap
its not a swap but a buddy of mine is a custom welder and he bought a international LPX {old chem-lawn truck} and stretched a 2008 dodge dually bed to 10 feet, lowered the truck and did all kinds of stainless steel work and stacks...........sweetest monster pick-up i've ever seen
