Default What do you think?

Hey guys, got a question.

I have been looking to get into another tow rig. My wife and I lost a substantial amount of income in 2008 and had to file bankruptcy this year. Anyways, it will be discharged on Nov. 2nd. So I have been looking to see what is out there, and really everything is in the 25k+ range on diesels. Today I found a 2005 F350 SRW 4X4 6.0 long wheel base at the local dealer. It is ruff. The inside of the bed has been beat pretty good, but could be covered with a spray in bedliner. It also has a gooseneck hitch there already. The interior is bad. A couple of seats are tore, the carpet/seats are stained, and some of the buttons are wore pretty good. I know I could cover the seats with covers and eventually get some better seats from the salvage yard. The mileage is 156,500, so I know this truck was rode hard. It seems to run fine (I did not drive it) with no sound of anything going on. The price is 14,200.00 and the payments would probably be just under 500 a month for after trade and everything else. What do you guys think?

tough to say for sure, sounds like some hard miles, ask the dealer if the head gaskets have been replaced? They were a major problem with the 6.0's and it is a very costly repair if the haven't been done. Good luck and use your best judgement

You could ask them to for a carfax on the truck.

I think for a payment under 500 bucks you can find alot better truck than that. Any kind of truck no matter what brand thats been rode that hard and put away wet is going to be bad news. One of my friends just bought an 01 cummins thats really clean with 100,000 miles for 13,500. his payment is about 350 a month.
