you can do anything as long as you have the money/time for it... but other than that i dont have a def. anwer for you.. i sure it wouldnt hurt performance, but that truck is a bit old, so it may have detrmentale effects there

Don't believe you have enough fuel to even wind it up. If you did, may end up blowing a head gasket.

you can turn that pump up enough to spool a turbo, remember they did throw a banks kit on the later production models. I would suggest a wastegated turbo, and lower boost levels.

I've heard these old trucks won't take much more than 10lbs of boost.

12 psi is normally max for the boost department. i have heard of 18 psi but that was on a lower compression and headstudded 6.9 still only lasted a few months.

as long as your 6.9 is mechanically sound, it will handle a turbo without a problem. i have over 200000 miles on mine. turbo is going on it soon. i got a ATS wastegated setup.

hmm...so a wastegated turbo? the motor has 140k mi. on it..taken out of a bad body and put on a 95 body...will the trans and motor hold up? i mean, the biggest reason for putting on a turbo is better fuel economy and to be easier on the engine when towing wood for the winter...i also do landscaping so a lot of heavy material a long ways..that's why i'd like the better fuel economy and 12mpg or so is gonna be the death of me. the previous owner got that and i haven't used a full tank yet..so..idk, i'd like to save money by spending it i guess. if that makes ANY sense whatsoever

and the tranny is the original as well. seems in decent shape

assuming it is automatic, the trans shoudd hold up. engine will hold it as long as it is sound. no weird ticks, knocks ect...

as stated above, def get a wastgated version. ford did use ATS in the 94 model on the idi 7.3. it iwll bolt onto a 6.9

find one on ebay or craihgslist. used can be found for 1000-1300 normally. new from either ATS, Banks or hypermax can go for 3000+
