Default Got a few Newbie questions

What temp should the water temp gauge show? Mine never gets over 170-180

What temp should my egt gauge show? Post turbo probe and I can see 1000deg if I get on it!

If i go from stock to 5in exhaust and take it into a 6in stack will this lower my egts?

Be genital im new to diesels ! My truck is a 2002 7.3 4x4 sw cc lwb with a Diablo delta chip with 40 and 80 hp tunes all readings above were taken in the 40 hp tune mode and an tymar style homemade filter set up. Need Mod suggestions !!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not sure about the water temp on the PSDs but I think your good if you never get over 170/180. As for egts, your really dont want to go over 1250* on a pre turbo pyrometer. I would look into getting your probe moved pre turbo because post turbos can be anywhere from 100*-400* off. You'll definetly see a decrease in egts with an exhaust especially because they are mandrel bent which is smooth flowing compared to the crimped stock exhausts.

Another way to get your egts down would to get a cold air intake, that'll help plus you'll get a faster spool up with a CAI.

I second moving the prob pre turbo. EGTs are kind of a personal question you have to ask yourself. These are all pre turbo numbers, but some people say 1200 is the hottest you want but my dodge could hit 1400 stock. I have pegged the 1600 degree pyro many times, not sayin its somethin you should do all the time, and its not the best for your turbo. Also at full throttle you should add around 350 to a post pyro.
