Default Looking to buy a new truck

Hello, I'm looking to buy a new truck. Looking at either a ford or dodge 3/4 or 1 ton. Looking at these two brands due to the solid axle. I'm wondering which truck is better and why. Will be used for hauling a 20' car trailer and a dump trailer. Thanks.

I would recommend a Ram with the CTD. And the next person might recommend a Ford Super Duty Power Stroke.
IMO the Ram with the 4th Gen is the proven engine, good luck.
Before your done you will be suffering from Analysis Paralysis. I know don't ask.
I started researching a new truck almost 18mo. ago.

I know I will prolly get a lot of opinion answers, that's why I was looking for why and not just cause ford is better than dodge of vise versa. I know Dodge had been having transmission issues, but also know the new ford engines aren't anywhere as good as the old 7.3. Thanks

I went with Ram because I was able to get it for $10,587.00 less than a Ford Super Duty Power Stroke. That was MSRP I got my truck through the Chrysler Affiliates Reward Program(main reason price) also that the Cummins is a proven motor and I have put many a mile behind a Cummins Engine and or a Cat Engine. If I could get a Cat Engine in a Ford or a Ram or a GMC I would but that over anything. But when you are going to spend almost as much on a Vehicle that you would on a house money counts.

I like the looks of the Ford Lariat, I like the Ram Laramie bottom line Cummins Engine is proven and price.

Do you have the Aisin trans? If so, have you had any issues with it?
