So, I am thinking about buying a 1994 Chevy 1500 with a 6.5L Detroit. The truck has 229xxx miles on it. Truck is owned by a mechanic who has done quite a bit of maintenance on the vehicle, as outlined in my signature.

This will be my first diesel and I'm sure a heck of a learning experience as I will probably be doing all the maintenance and repairs myself. Note.....I'm nothing close to a mechanic....at all. I am wondering if there is a reason to steer clear of this or if it's a good running, long lasting Chevy like every other Chevy truck.

So, help me out here.........Consider, Buy, or Run Like Hell?? Looking for your honest opinions. Don't worry about my feelings.....I have none!

Also, anything specific to look for or check when I inspect the truck?
