06-07 Dodge 2500 vs 06-07 D-max

06-07 Dodge 2500 vs 06-07 D-max
I am comparing the 5.9 cummins and the D-max
I have been doing a lot of reading in the last few months in regards to comparing different diesels and what will work best for my intent, so I have narrowed it down to these two trucks.
The truck will be used to two my 7000lb travel trailer, a boat later on down the road, and will be my daily driver. Things that are important to me is has to be a 4wd, will be an auto, reliability, mpg (im not expecting it to be a Honda), cost of maintainence/repairs, longevity, and cab space. I have considered the Mega Cab (and love it), but there arent many available in my budget, so I might not be able to swing it. The trucks that I am looking at also have 120,000-140,000miles
-Gauges, CAI, and exhaust will be done right away; a programmer later on.
My gas truck has done "ok" towing my trailer the short distances that I have been towing it to (no more than 3 hours one way), but I have a trip through the Smokey Mountains planned next month and I dont think my truck will handle it. My truck works pretty damn hard just towing through the hills at the Lake of the Ozarks, so it kind of scares me thinking about taking it from Missouri to Florida while towing. Thank You in advance for all suggestions and help.
