Default 24 valve 5 spd

hi everyone, let me start by saying no stranger to the 2nd gen dodge but this will be my first cummins vp44 with 163,000 on, no mods n no upgrades. Now with that said here is where im at daily driver, n tow rig lite camper n fifth wheel hauler with my 1500 gaser on, the upgrades i am aware of are s@b intake n elbow, mbrp exhaust, thoroughbred diesel combo pak vp44 pump,airdog frrp extra filter, stealth cover, edge juice w/ att cts, and a southbend clutch so can ne one give help if these are okay things lookin to extend life of truck with lil performance but dont wanna roll coal stock everything else exterior susp, wheels tires etc,,,, thanks for help everyone. pm me if u have done all this stuff n know the best set up, but ill keep checkin on this post

Looks good so far. Fuel pump is covered, gauges are in the CTS, good clutch, air flow increased, looks like the right things have been done. As long as the FRRP keeps you over 10psi at WOT, it will be enough. If it doesn't you may want to upgrade it.

k ven thou im new to the diesel i do my research big time so i appreciate ur feedbak, RAwilliams actually when i woulkd type stuff up on google ur thredss would always come up why i joined this forum, ? thou if i run upgraded lift n injec fump do i need the fass setup yes or no with everything else that i will b doin n since its jus to basic drive to n from work n hall the 1500 trail rig

The need to upgrade your lift pump will be determined on your fuel pressure. If you have less than 10 psi of fuel pressure while your foot is right to the floor, it's time for an upgrade. If it stays above 10 psi, you don't need an upgrade.

hey just want to ask quick ? new diesel (used) dealership just opened in my area has 12 valve 2nd n 24valve 2nd and some common rails he wants 14995 for a 98 5spd 24v with 167,000 give or take all stock no rust great underside n interior but paint is rough what do u think, but has an 05 cr 6spd and 07 6spd i wanna stay around 22,000 for truck n upgrades which do u think, jus wonderin, did call guy at alligator, 3885 shipped 4in mbrp vp44 fass intake an horn and edge juice w/att cts and sb 13in clutch n fly which noone can beat should i jus stay with 2nd gen which im familiar with, well not diesel have gasers but i know ther pretty close as nuts n bolts and wiring, once again u kicksmoke always listen to what u say on forum jus let me know what u think thanks again n god bless Jesse
