OK, woman, now you're confusing the hell outta me.

Are you saying that it cranks but doesn't fire? And that you have to give it some gas pedal to get it to start?

If that's the case then it's either your Fuel Pressure Regulator or your fuel pump.

Typically with a GM that has a leaking FPR it will start hard after the car has been driven and then shut off for anywhere from 1/2 hour to 5 hours.

A weak fuel pump will typically not start when the car hasn't been started yet for the day.

Look at the picture below and see the part I circled. That's your FPR. Pull that little rubber hose off the top right away after you get home from a drive and see if there is gas coming out of it. If there isn't put a paper towel around it and walk away for about an hour and the check it.

If there's gas then that's your problem. The rubber diaphragm is leaking and flooding the car a bit as well as bleeding off fuel pressure.

If you don't get any gas out of there then have someone put a fuel pressure gauge on it when the car sits overnight. I'd bet it's the pump then. I'll try and get you the fuel press specs here today yet.

ok johnny, i smelt gas last night, ill start it and let it idle for a bit and take off that hose and look for leaks...I had it checked out last night by a friend, he said deffinatly the rotors, and calipers need to be done, bad vibration when braking, the belt he sid was loose, he could grab it and pinch it together, smelt the gas but it was getting too dark to see inside. The head light lamp was blinking on , looks like turn signal, one of the light wents dim, then he knocked it and it went bright, but the light stayed on...ummm i think thats it.. Ill get my coveralls on and get it up on a ramp,so i can see whats up under there..first thing ill go check that hose.

I cleaned it up a bit, whats a good engine cleaner, any names off the top of your heads? ill get some, yuck. 1st. im missing a bolt on the top of the valve cover.the middle one should be able to see that in the pic. 2nd, the fan doesnt turn at all when its running..isnt it suppose too? 3rd. I dropped a splatter of grease on the exhaust manifold and it smoked like crasy,, got super hot really quick....air filter is black, going to get a new one soon..:humm:I took off the hose and it wasnt leaking, but ill try again later when i drive it longer..oh yea the gas tank light went on last night and never went off after i filled up.. this morning its off...this cars going to need lots of work..yikes..:argh:

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

got engine cleaner and new filter, how come brake calipers are 75.00 at lordco and 53 at CT? 40 doller core charge at lordco and 25 at CT?:humm: still started like crap when i drove it for awhile, the fuelpump is right below that fpr isnt it..

Probably going to need new spark plugs, wires, an O2 sensor, and fuel filter. Some vehicles, the light or gauge won't do anything while the key is switched on. When you shut it off, everything reset.

yea, oil is clean was just done.imagine the fuel filter was too.... see how that cleaner works, clean er up take it to my new friend, 20 yr old little hotty.. ill just sit back and watch his A$$..:pca1::w2:

Yo pump is in yo tank. Fuel pressure specs are 41 to 47 psi. That's key on/engine off. Idle specs are allowed to be about 5 psi lower.

Ok Johnny noted thanks for the research, ill get on that this weekend.Pumps in the tank,,dam, the tank has to come off then? :humm:
