Default Fuel Pump Tuning For 1990 Mitsubishi Lancer 1.8 Turbo Diesel 4D65 Engine

Hi. I have a 1990 Mitsubishi Lancer 1.8 turbo diesel 4d65. Can someone tell me how I can set the fuel pump to have some power with the least black smoke?
Thank you!!

More fuel is going to give you more boost! If I remember your trying to lower your boost, unless you got the wastegate adjusted? What fuel pump do you have? I haven't been able to find much info on that 1.8L engine?

I found this!

1990 Mitsubishi Lancer 1.8 TD - Siggiewi, MT

This guy seems like he's got some experience with these things! From looking @ his pics, the injection pump looks like its a Bosch VE? If this is the case, there should be a screw on the back of the pump. That should be your fuel screw!

Thanks but I already know what screw it is. All I want to know, is how much fuel I should turn up.

I'd say start with a 1/4 of a turn and go from there. I don't think your going to get much out of it? Maybe a 10% gain in Hp.
