Volvo Diesels
Having been the proud owner of too many Volvo diesels to count, I would just like to say that Volvo diesels should have their own heading here. Just because they're slow, loud, and smokey, doesn't mean they shouldn't be appreciated
Volvo used the VW motor in their early '80s US diesels. I think it was the same engine that was in the Rabbit/Jetta.
My hubby had the greatest 1980 Volvo 265 station wagon, and that thing was a TANK!!

The Diesels in the 80's Volvos were from VW's Light truck engine series. There were the D20 5 cylinder and the D24 I6 in the 200 series (both were non-turbo). The 700 series got the turbo engines designated the D24T and the D24TIC (intercooled).
