Hmm. Maybe I did not use the online calculator correctly to convert them. Anyways I was looking at 2x2 that i believe it says its 11 guage and is 3.067 pounds per foot. Does this even sound right? Again I am not quite sure on how thick it should be, but once I see the stock in my hands I think I will be able to tell if it is thick enough. Let me know if I am going about this in the wrong direction.
---AutoMerged DoublePost--- Ok. Just got back from looking at some metal. 1/8 inch is way too thin. I saw some 1/4 inch and it looks like it will work great. It seemed very strong and sturdy. Now I just got to buy some stock and start welding. |
best way to test it.....jack the truck up using the slider, if it goes up fine and dont bend anything your good to go......if not, well.....
|
Bet that is a good way to test it!

Mopar makes rock sliders for the Power Wagon. Theyll fit on any swb 3rd gen. They were $500 thru my dealer.

I looked at the Mopar rock sliders, but to me they don't seem too strong.
Rowdy- I am thinking about going with a design like that, I just want the sliders to be as strong as can be. I'm still working things out to get everything in order to do this. Keep the good ideas comming guys! |
