Thats why I am taking the 3in body lift off of the 79 dodge I just bought. Don't want any surprises like that.

I have seen plenty of body lifted trucks shift in accidents, This was just a worse case Logan. That extra 3" is alot of force. I too have had a few trucks with 3" body lifts, none of which have failed, but I never rolled, crashed, slamed, or otherwise stressed them. I dont want my cab coming off my frame in an accident.

I have a 3in body lift on my bronco with no problems. And i beat on it. Jumped a few times, laid it on its side, takin out a few trees. O, and set it on the tailgate once, almost went all the way over, wish I had video of that. Never shifted or anything like that.

From my experience with body lifts, if its a quality kit and installed properly it shouldnt shift. I have seen one made from 4x4 wodden blocks that shifted.

I have a 3" on my GMC and never had a shifting or strength problem with it, I also followed the instructions to a tee and rechecked tightness of everything and my frame and cab mounts are in good shape.

i've rearended a sebring with it at about 45-50mph, mangled my bumper and took out a headlight and crushed his trunk and bumper in.

i've offroaded heavily with it, hitting ruts and trees and such without issue, the pass side of the truck looks like chewed bubblegum. and i've destroyed frontend parts from hard hits without shifting the cab or bed.

if the truck is structurally sound there should be no issue.

Again guys, have y'all wrecked these trucks? And rear ending a car is not really a hard hit when it comes to accidents, run up in the woods, and roll it over, I have seen plenty of BL trucks come apart in accidents.
