For a first year event and being the first big event of the year the turnout was great considering the inclement weather that was approaching. On Friday night 41 trucks performed in front of 1,500 fans that were inside and outside against the fence watching which ended around 10:30pm.

Local racers and top guys from Ohio put on a great show including Matt Handwork running the Boneshaker for the first time. Wade Moody worked the bugs out of his S-10 and laid down an impressive 5.68 and on that track with no shutdown it was quite difficult!

Saturday started early with overcast skies and rain but the Vendor Alley Building was packed with people talking to Vendors and looking at the Show-N-Shine trucks. Dyno ran all day by Bean’s Diesel, he ran about 20 trucks until the Fairground’s bad electric fried his Dyno board! Sled pulling started around 1:30 with 40 trucks pulling on a near perfect surface, as you can see we had some unbelievable distances set. Saturday attendance including the concert crowd was approximately 1,600 fans.

The Concert setting was against a 20’x50’ stage with half a million dollar sound system behind it and the music started out to be just perfect until mother nature decided against it. After the opening bands of Lit Endz and James Wesley played and while waiting for Trent Tomlinson the sky turned black with high winds, marble size hail and finally a tornado touched down within a 1/4 mile of our location! It was a scary moment for those trying to get their families to a safe location, the sheriff department rushed everyone into the concrete wall restrooms at the fairgrounds for safety.

I picked an obvious safe location on the fairground, the ticket booth that had the smallest space and thinnest walls of any building on the fairgrounds.

I want to thank the manufacturers who provided Vendor Alley, the building was packed most of the day. They reported a brisk business of buying parts, good way to make them feel welcomed!

The TV crew had a blast shooting and profiling the race and pulling teams, they will be editing for a future show of Diesel Motorsports to air in January.

Kudos to Tailgate Entertainment for holding the Concert together before the high winds, hail and tornado hit - literally the sky fell down on us!
