A fuel question? Om617 Toyota 4Runner Swap.
I have removed the stock Toyota gas fuel pump and retained the stock Toyota gas screen in the tank.
Will this reduce the fuel draw from the tank ?
I did look up the stock Mercedes in tank screen and it looks like it is not as fine as the stock Toyota in tank gas screen .
Cylinder one is the Mercedes
Flat one is Toyota

Don't worry. If you don't trust those screens remove them completly and use a seperate pre-filter unit. They are capable to supply diesel generators with a fuel consumption of up to 10gal per hour, so they will be good enough for a small Mercedes diesel and they are much better to access than a small screen filter in the tank.
You will find them in any size. I use a small glas screen filter made by Bosch in front of the main filter unit. You can see the inlet hole with the banjo bolt, the outlet is the left hole. Easy to observe, easy to clean. Dirt is visible any time on the screen.
Thats it!
The glas bowl must be mounted in a downward facing direction, of course!
PS:the prefilter you can see in the picture was installed in front of a 6 cylinder 300hp Scania semi engine, so size does not matter in this case.
