Default Chips?? Tranny?? HELP

I am possibly buying a 2008-2009 duramax and am planning on putting on a dpf delete, chip ( preferablly a ppe i have heard good things but really not sure whats the best from expereince) and for the tranny should i need to do anything to it so it can handle the higher hp and torque? Just need some exprience on whats some good things to do to the truck to start out and what can save me money in the long run like not having to rebuild the tranny a year later. Thanks

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Sorry also is going to have 6 inch lift with 35s

PPE is a good choice for some of the DPF Delete tuning you're looking for. I might be wrong, but I am not sure if they have fixed the bugs for being able to correct shift patterns. There is a learning curve that alison uses, so anytime there is a change to the ECM the transmission has to relearn. When using a high horse power tune without building the alison up for it, the learning curve tends to make the alison eat its self alive. To get the best out of the situation is going with a shop that has EFI Live. There is not a single flash software out for the Duramax that can compare to EFI live. It is hands down the best. do make sure your able to build the alison if going to a more wild approach

Alli upgrades are essential for any bump in power over 100hp, after that i would suggest a Lift pump, and definitely gauges

I have just seen alot of guys run the ppe programmers so i was just curiuos. Im kinda new to the whole duramax allison deal so what do you mean by the ecm? Also ive heard alot on the EFI live and am not fully sure on what that is either? So your saying build the tranny up to get it stronger and more used to what its gonna see instead of jumping into a whole bunch of power? And if i were to upgrade the allison what do you suggest? sorry for all the questions just super curious

Suncoast Gmax 6pac kit with either a suncoast 1056 converter or Precision Industries Mike L converter

ECM = Engine Control Module

EFI live is the best tuning available for the Duramax, but you need to know your way around a computer, and have to be able to grasp the concepts of making small changes to boost, fuel, timing.... etc, you can buy canned tunes from guys like Nick at www.duramaxtuner.com

what is your plan for the truck? ya gonna keep it for a while and upgrade more? For Handhelds , PPE,EDGE,H&S many more also.. IMHO I would get EFI and tune it yourself with help or Buy a custom tune from A reputable tuner. Then get a Edge CTS insight for guages if you go with custom tuning, you could use that to check/clear codes if need be. Plus its nice to use. So the cost of a tune for EFI or EFI itself. Sometimes you can just buy a pretuned ECM like I did for my Twins From Nick@duramaxtuner. He will give you the core charge on your old one if you wish. I kept mine just in case. The DSP5 switch is awseome feature to consider also... Have fun and let us know what ya do
For the Trans I would just do a Suncoast 1V or simliar and be done with it. Airdog or Fass for a liftpump.. Basically just open up the Bank Vault and let the money FLOW.......

Suncoast doesnt make the IV kit anymore, it is being phased out for the Gmax 5pac and 6pac, the frictions and steels are on the same disc, it allows them to pack more discs into the same space as if they were to use the old steel/friction/steel/friction......... they are now just steel on one side and friction on the other

a PI converter will cost you $1050, and the suncoast 1056 converter will cost you about $1200
