As long as you run a programmer capable, you can remove DPF system and treat it just like an LBZ basically. Edge evo, PPE, quadzilla, and many others.

I have a PPE with the DPF and it is fine, there is a lot of stuff you can do to an LMM.

LMM's are very capable engines, get rid of the DPF and you'll be running like a bat out of hell in no time, programmers such as the Edge Evolution CS/CTS Racing you can be at 430 rear wheel horsepower with minimal modifications, such as intake and exhaust, throw in a torque converter and a transgo shift kit and you'll be around 450 rwhp pretty cheap and you'll have a truck in the low 13's in the quarter mile

thanks guys i dont know much about the newer diesels such as the duramax i now own a 89 f450 with the 7.3 alot of difference. but with all said that opened up my year model range. so can you remove the burner or what ever with out putting any programmer on it up front and like a turbo back exhaust. is the DPF what my buddy is calling the burner kit and may i ask what it does and function is.

yeah, the DPF is the burner. Its a big *** filter on the exhaust, like a cat but more restrictive, and requires the motor to run really rich/hot every once in awhile to burn all the crap out of it.
You do need a tuner to take it off, the only thing you can do without a tuner exhaust wise it a DPF back, which gains basically nothing but some sound.

X2.

Get DPF delete tuner and use a turbo back exhaust.
Also do an intake.

Give me a ring if you have any questions on the LMM. I have a pretty good runing LMM, and have made a few other run good also.

You could go either way there. I've did both, had a DPF tune it actually was very good, But ya know how it goes. The DPF fell off and never looked back, all depends on how much you're willing to spend.
