Default upgraded transmission?

I have a 2011 gmc sierra LML and i have put a enclosed cold air intake, MBRP exhaust and a H&S mini max programmer. it is pushing around 500 hp as told by my mechanic and that the stock Allison transmission cant handle that. so what do you guys recommend for a new tranny?

It can handle 5, miles and abuse are the main factors. Tuning can also play a big role in longevity.

dont know where these HP numbers are coming from, 1000hp, 900hp, 700hp...

it is pretty well known among the pro tuners that the 6 speed Alison will usually handle about 90hp over stock but anything over will shorten its life, some faster then others

Ding ding ding! Wow, only guy with a real answer on power ratings for the Allison. However, from what I've seen is that the LML trans is a bit more stout than previous model years and can handle about 550 rwhp without serious modification. A lot of guys out there running about that and still going strong after thousands of miles on high hp tunes. That's not to say a guy can't blow it up going full idiot and doing tug of wars...

Suncoast 6R-3, MLG TC, Goerend PTO covers will get you a butt load of power to the ground. Mke L, Calvins, Big Dipper and many others can do this work.

The Allison in the LML is a robust unit. Check out the video below on how far we pushed it.

On the older 6 Speeds, (LBZ and LMM) we run a 130 RWHP over stock on our stock trans Race tune and most people are just fine with it. Now that is using EFILive tuning from us, so there is something to be said for that. Obviously heavy abuse will shorten the life of the trans but most customers have never had an issue.

Absolutely correct! 550 at the rear wheels is no problem for an LML. Check out the video to see how far we pushed it.
