Want a intake. which one
Hey guys just got a 03.
First thng is going to be an intake. and exhaust
All i read is half of you say, the stock intake is good to 500hp. But here has got to be somehting better. the other half say banks or S&B or afe...... i just dont know
I do know banks has there big huge graph that claims there and one other intake are the only ones that lower iats and add power.
I am looking for best MPG and longevity. this is not a race truck, or a truck that is trying to smoke anybody out. It needs to tow and drive me to work everyday.
thanks!!

agreed, the stock intake and stock filter perform awesome on these trucks, its one of those things you really dont need to mess with
I would go S&B if i were in the market for an aftermarket system.. they are hard to beat for quality and price

S&B also offers dry filters as well

Might find some of the info here interesting as well

Its basically whatever you feel comfortable with, there are quite a few guys with both, the S&B filter was designed for diesels and the amount of airflow they require
its usually other brands that cause fouling of the MAF

OOOOO I see!!!! that makes sense. thanks a ton!
I have a Volant on my truck amd so does my grandfather. He had his first which is why i got one also.
At the time of his install he already had a programmer, and we could tell a fair difference. 20-30 hp anyway. on my truck with no programmer i couldnt tell much maybe granted to the fact that i bought the intake and the truck the same day and drove 10 miles through a stinggy town and installed it. But i like the Volant, when i buy another vehicle and put an intake on, it will be a Volant
