Default Military H2 rims and 37" tires?

I got a buddy that is in the military and he can get the humvee rims and tires real cheap, so i was wondering if anyones got any pictures of what this would look like before i buy em?

-also are 37" tires gonna fit on a stock height 4wd duramax?

If there millitary they will be H1's... And they will also be bias ply... not fun on the road.

I ran some for about 20 miles, turned around and gave them to the tire shop, just to get my old ones remounted...

newer humvee tires are radial. mounted on 12 bolt rims. The bias ply are the old ones and were on 8 bolt rims. I have radials on my truck.

H1 wheels and tires are 16.5" not 17s, and the backspacing is awful. Basically its probably not gonna work.

I thought H1 wheels had planetary hubs anyways...does that affect the rim design too?

35's on a stock hieght Duramax??? you must have a leveling kit or something. i am running 35's with a 4" suspension lift and i had to cut the corners off the bottom plastic piece to keep them from rubbing while driving (they still rub if i hit a big bump). 33's where the biggest tire i could fit on mine while it was stock hieght and they rubbed on bumps.

You will need at least an 8" lift to run 37's on a chevy. They might fit with a 6" lift but it would be damn close.

Oh i suppose if i can remember i will take a picture of the rims and tires on a H1 humvee tomorrow. i have very bad memory so most likely i will forget.

H1 wheels are great if you have done an axle swap that is a little wide and you want to tuck the tires back under the rig. They are all but flat on the exposed side like a front wheel drive rim. These rims are were made for a purpose, NOT for looks. ie, they're pretty ugly.
