On the 2001 lb7 and 02 (i could be wrong on that) behind the fuel rail fitting there is a small fitting that even with a ported fuel rail fitting keeps from any gains to be seen or extra fuel to enter the rails for that matter.

Here is the side view of the fittings. the high pressue like would connect from the right and pass though and the rail and injectors would be on the left side.




The ppe ported fuel rail fitting is bored out to +.125 all the way through



On the butt end of the "bullet" fitting that goes inside the rail is slightly smaller.



But on the other side there is a problem, the hole tapers down to a tiny pin hole, this hole is in charge of feeding each bank with fuel and with ported fittings it wont make a difference if this hasnt been modified.




Here are some comparison pics for better see how small the the hole is.







With both the fuel rail parts removed it is a clear shot into the rail, and you can imagine how long it would take to fill up a rail with a fitting like that.

 

I Ported out the little bullet deal out to .125" to let more fuel go though it. i also ported out the passenger side fuel rail fitting out to .125" too.

as far as i know the 03's and up lb7s dont have the little bullet deal. you can either port out your rail fitting to .125" or buy a ppe one. you will need to one for each rail. the driver side is on the rear under the GPCR and the passenger side behind the alt next to the ficm

you can do it, i only have one ppe ported fuel rail fitting, the other i ported my self out to .125 with a drill bit. the same size but i used to port out the bullet thing behind the fuel rail fiting

but if you are still able to hold the rail pressure or keep up with he demands of the fuel system then this mod wont help you any. if you do have a rail pressure problem then it is probably something else wrong with your fuel system (cp3, or injector related) based on the demands of what a sub 500hp truck requires
