Default New Turbo

what's my best choice for a turbo upgrade?
I've looked at the Cheetah and the Garrett GT42R.
and can i dual those?

For those of you that saw my post in the Ford forum i am going to be buying a truck for $700(long story). And i plan on turning around and selling it and making about $15k. I already have planned to spend $5k on new wheels and tires, a 1058 torque converter, and upgrading my programmer to the Hot+2.

i'm gonna keep atleas 3k in the bank to cover my truck payments(i'm not gonna pay off my truck cause i want to build credit.) But i haven't decided whether i want to save the other 7 grand or spend it. or save part of it and spend part of it.

What are some essentials i need if i plan on racing this truck alot at the strip?
Specific part names/numbers would be great. thanks

i'm definately gonna rebuild the tranny. what all will i need? I was told i don't need everything that the suncoast stage Iv comes with since i'm an automatic. and that's what i had planned on getting.(but i want the 1058 tq. converter.)
and i just don't know if i'll like efi live...
and if i do get it then i'm gonna be on here askin how to work it all the time

Damn kids. OK, a few things.

1. Don't count your chickens before they hatch.
2. Save for the future

Now to the 'what to do first', since you want to race it:
tranny
Save money on the wheels and just get good tires. Aftermarket wheels are always heavier than the stockers, the extra weight will slow you down.
Programming
Exhaust
Intake
Then go from there.

yeah i know there is a chance it wont happen. but i'd like to go ahead and get an idea on some stuff i should buy. and i am going to be saving some of it.

with the wheels, racing isn't the only thing i want. i want my truck to look mean and stick out. plus i plan on blackin it out.

Correct me if im wrong but you can't put a cheetah on a LB7? LB7 trucks didn't come with a vgt turbo? Or I could be wrong I dunno. Thought it was only the LLY and up.

EFI live is the Best choice PPE HOT +2 is good and makes on the fly changing great compared to EFI Live.

Rebuild the trans ofcourse.

Turbo Programming you needs Studs and Rods after about 500 HP them Rods don't take to much to bend.

You can do anything you want with enough money.

i'm not sure about whether or not they make a cheetah turbo for that year. but i do know that the cheetah was the cheapest one i've looked at. and they are 64mm and 70mm. i think it's priced at around $2700. the ATS Aurora 5000 is about $3800. and then the Garrett GT42R turbo kit is like $4300.
