Default ppe mp8 stackable

I'm pretty new to the diesel game, just purchased my first an 02 2500 hd. It already has a banks big head wastegate & high flow filter ( factory airbox ). I've already added turbo back 5" exhaust ( straight pipe ). I plan on adding Gauges, An intake ( AEM ? ), a ppe lift pump, & a PPE excellerator standard. I plan on sled pulling (work stock) with a little drag racing now and then. After the trans is built i was thinking of stacking the ppe with an mp8. Has anyone tried this? What does the mp8 adjust? Would it be reasonably safe?

First Off, Welcome to DieselBombers!

Now about your truck. I wouldnt worry about any intake at all. Your factory Air box can flow plenty for up to around 500-550 rwhp. With a little modifications. Also, the factory Donaldson Filter flows better and filters better than most of your aftermarket filters do.

Here is how you can mod your LB7 airbox for max flow

And here is the Filter test showing how superior our stock Filters are.

As far as the programmers go, Im not sure why you would stack anything with the PPE Standard. You would be MUCH more money ahead to go straight to the PPE HOT+2 or EFI Live. Especially if you are planning on any type of competition. EFI Live is the BEST source for more power.

Of course, Im by NO MEANS an expert. So get as many opinions on this as you can. Im sure many of our DMAX owners will chime in with what they think

Oh, and when you get ready to buy some parts for that LB7, stop by and post in the price request thread what you are looking for. It automatically sends a PM to EVERY VENDOR on the site, and they will PM you back with their prices. That way YOU get the best deal and save a pocket full of Cash!

You can find the price request thread here>>

I believe it can, but it will have to be sent in to PPE for the upgrade if Im not mistaken. EFI live is cheaper than the PPE HOT+2 anyways..

There are alot of great people that will help you tune. Plus when you buy from many of the EFI vendors, they give you a couple free tunes, plus a custom tune to your specifications. Its not as bad as you might think it is.

Thats one of the many great things about being in a close knit diesel enthusiasts community like DieselBombers. We are all here to help each other out.

If you are looking for EFILive tuners the two I would look at are duramaxtuner.com and mcratracing.com. Both have tunes to suit all needs and provide support and tuning help as needed.

If you believe that EFI is beyond your capabilities, I have great deals on PPE Hot+2ET's PPE HEXCLGM+2ET 01-08 GM 6.6L Duramax Hot + 2 ET Xcelerator down to the Standard Xcelerator PPE XCELGMSTD 01-08 GM 6.6L LB7, LLY, LBZ, LMM Standard Xcelerator. Put them in the shopping cart for final pricing. Let me know if you need anything, I am glad to help.

hey i just got my PPE standard a few days ago and i love it. i'm with ya on the EFI LIVE being too much for me and i kinda don't feel like dealing with it. i am completely satisfied with the ppe standard except that it will not black smoke on any tune. you may get some grey smoke but only if the pedal is to the floor.
However, i bought the standard to go ahead get my truck out of stock mode. and i will be upgrading to the hot+2 after i get a tranny upgrade. so if you have the money i would go ahead and get the Hot+2. if not the standard isplent of power for me as of now...(but beware. the power is addicting. once i tried the 5th tune all the other ones made me feel slow...)

but welcome to DB. it's an awesome site and there are plenty of people to give you plenty of answers
