just remember to ease into the power because your allison transmission has to "LEARN" its power or it will go limp no matter what power level you have it on.

Itl take a good while for the transmission to complety learn how to handle its power, the shifts will get smoother and faster as it learns

U dont want to go racing right when u tune it, u can be a little aggressive and eventually get more aggressive with it. It varies on how the person drives.

Danny, correct me if Im wrong, but to "re-learn" the Alli, dont u have to go 1/4 throttle thru all the gears, then stop, and go 1/2 throttle thru the gears, stop, 3/4 throttle thru the gears, stop and do it all again with tow/haul on?

Might be wrong, I thought i read that somewhere..

You can do that, if you reset the taps, that could make the trans learn faster. If you had a ppe or efi u can set it to fast learn mode and itl learn super quick.

Each tcm is different, it takes my truck nearly a week of dd driving to get all the hard shifts out, but thats wit no resetting of the taps and no fast learn.

I really only reset it when it picks up some bad habits from my driving style.

But when u are re-leaning it u do want to get progressively more aggressive with the driving style.

if you want smoke you could undo the intercooler and just run no boost that would really make the truck smoke hahaha. j/k the best way i think is to use EFI live if you plan on building your trans and want to be able to really control everything but if you want right out of the box power then PPE would be the best i think
