Default Intake Heater Plug

Who has done this besides me?

Its a nice mod, makes it easy if you want to Make a boost tap post IC so see what actual boost before engine is, or for water meth injection. It just a big plug that replaces the intake heater coil on the intake neck on the lb7.

Takes only 5 mins to install the plug and removes the big coil that's right in the middle of the intake neck.

Here is some pics. The thread size is M22 x 1.5 for those who want to try this on their own, i know a guy who gets them and taps them if you want.

yes it was, only problem i has was that i didn't have a socket that fit that intake heater or plug, i ended running to the parts store and picking up a 1 1/16 socket that worked perfectly, didn't even break a sweat busting the heater loose either. it was tightened down to 37ft/lbs after that.

Is there any benefit to this?
If so, what?

its in the middle of the already narrow intake bridge kinda messed with the flow, you can also have it tapped for watermeth/nos/boost gauge if you want to.

hmmmm.... i may have a problem doing this... seeing as it's already got down to 29* during the day. granted it was 74 today at 6pm. and then it was 50 at 12am... it's not even the cold months yet. I wanna do it just cause of the results you got. but lets say i do it and i have a hard time starting it... is it reversable? that way i can take the heater coil out for the summer and put it back in for the winter? i'm fine with losin 5psi during the winter. 30psi doesn't do ya any good if you cant get traction on the roads
