Lawmaker Envisions $1-Billion Prize for Gas-Powered 100-MPG Cars
U.S. Rep. Dan Lungren (R-Calif.) has introduced legislation that would give a $1-billion prize to the first automaker in the U.S. that can sell 60,000 midsize sedans that use gasoline and get 100 mpg.
