Price of Gas: Is $5 The New Standard

"I know that with $4 gas, I’m not making any changes to my driving habits."
Its not that your not changing your driving habits it the fact that you cant. America is not a public transportation country like say england. People have to drive everyday to work to the bus to everything. We are basically over a Barrel (pun intended) and have to pay. Sure, I could own my home and drive a smart car or smaller car, but I cant take anything anywhere or pick up anything for my home. That is something I need to do, because I need to be able to do my house and yard work so I need my truck. This is how America and Americans' function in my mind and that's why $4 gas is killing us. It's not cause we need to change or driving habits it's that we as a country cant.
ps. we could deal with paying more for goods on stuff that's deivered by trucks and such but we cant afford it every gal. of every day.
