While i am no fan of it, it has been a common practice for years in other cities. Many cities have contracted ambulances to private companies. They in turn will bill you for services rendered. Where other cites (including NY) bill you for transport. Many people are not aware that this is covered by your insurance for many people, so check your policy. Problem now is that this mayor wants to bill for car fires, accidents whether you are transported or not.

i have worked for close to 25 years in 2 cities. If people actually saw what BS calls we go on and see the waste, they might understand. But also be aware that treatment will NOT be denied if you can't pay. Don't expect to see them asking for a credit card before treatment. That is ridiculous.

But unfortunately, living in NY (the land of taxes), this mayor will look for any way to take money from working class citizens. Especially city workers.

Still waiting for NY to pass the 'Oxygen tax", where we pay a fee to breathe..
