Report: New Nissan Quest intro pushed back, will debut for 2012
Filed under: Minivan/Van, Nissan
Are you on pins and needles waiting for the next-generation Nissan Quest? If you are, you may as well relax, because the latest rumors suggest that it'll be 2011 before Nissan's minivan hits dealerships. Motor Trend indicates that Nissan has pushed back the Quest in order to concentrate its attention on its new commercial van lineup. The move would make the Quest a 2012 model, though the report claims that production would begin in January. So why push back the Quest for commercial vans like the NV2500? Apparently because commercial vehicles make up 16 percent of Nissan's global vehicle production. That's a lot of vans, folks, and those are vehicles that likely sell at a tidy profit.
Nissan recently gave minivan-lovers something to look forward earlier in the week, though, as the Japanese automaker released a few teaser pics. There isn't too much detail in the photos published, but what we see so far is an attractive van with enough style to help some shoppers forget that they're buying a soccer mom (or dad) mobile.
