The Volkswagen Polo took home top honors as the 2010 World Car of the Year at the 2010 New York Auto Show on Thursday. The Chevrolet Camaro was named 2010 World Car Design of the Year.

By way of contrast, the World Car Design of the Year trophy was awarded to Chevrolet for the new Camaro, which beat off the Kia Soul (another American piece of work, though Kia itself is of course Korean) and the Citroen C3 Picasso.
