Information GM Throws Down The Gauntlet, Challenges Ford to 'Truck Of War'

GM's vice chairman, Tom Stephens, appears to be taking a page out of Bob Lutz's playbook. Today he issued a challenge to Ford to pit the PowerStroke diesel-powered 2011 F-Series Super Duty truck against the DuraMax diesel 2011 Chevrolet and GMC Heavy Duty trucks. The new line of 2011 GM Heavy Duty trucks is due to make its debut at the 2010...

There is one comment on the story, and makes a valid point, Gears, tires, weight distribution, I think the diesel mags will do some head to head competing, I'm interested to see what the new Ford diesel will do, its a pretty radical new design. I wish Ford, GM and Chrysler (Dodge) would get with the program and put a diesel in the 1/2 ton trucks. I'll be watching

Guess they want to test GMC's new heavy duty tie rod ends...LOL

Or maybe they have a self loading tow truck they want to showcase?


Dumb test of HP and tow ratings...

Hook each one to 15k and head for the mountains, thats a test...

This is showboating.

yeah ratings dont prove anything, they need to go duke it out fo real on the pavement.


oh and i hope they fix those damn tierods

id like to see them do that with the same frame on a dmax, then i can just find me a wrecked new one and swap it over the weekend
