Ford?s chief executive, Alan R. Mulally, figured the Taurus name still had value, even though it had become a staple of rental car fleets.

there doing the same thing with the tauras has they did with mercury sable they tried a new name but no body recognized it so they're going back to the old model that people have heard before...
