I know there is a video on here somewhere of a dude putting his face right in the exhaust and taking a face full of soot ... I think it would be an excellent educational tool. Take some tree huggin fool and stick his/her face in the exhaust.

If I knew better that has been done more than once, and I know one of the guys who has done this/have seen him do it in person, its one of CumminsCrazed's buddys out in Iowa. Cool kid who drives a half ton chevy with a 350 that wishes it was a diesel. :rocking:

the problem ended up being when i cut the exhaust manifold off :argh: with the plasma cutter i got all the little bbs from it inside my pistons and cut the shit out of my cylinder walls.

yeah that would deinately cause problems. what ya have to do get it re sleeved?

honest. bought it on ebay. still had the cummins tags on it. it was out of a rv. the guy got it and put it in a climate contolled warehouse. been sittin for 2 or three years. turns over great. never had oil in it. still had the assybly lube on cylinder walls. and i aint lyin either

Actually, soot has a lot of different sized particulates, ranging from smaller than .1 micron, to over 10 microns. The stuff smaller than .1 micron is pretty much harmless to humans, just what research shows, I don't know the science behind it. Particulates larger than 2 or 3 microns falls to the ground (depending on its composition), its the particulates from just over 1 to .1 microns that pose health dangers.

Its all bullshit, tree huggers bitch just for attention. Hell in California I hear women shaving their legs may be shown to cause cancer, along with hard rock music.
