I am fairly new to the Canfield area and still learning my way around. I am in the process of rebuilding my dana 60 and was wondering before I rent a ball joint press if there is anyone in the area that has a large press to remove the ball joints and install new ones??? Also want to replace u-joints in axle shaft.
Thought I had seen someone in the Ohio bombers that has done the cummins into Ford swap. would like see a completed swap and get some advice before I jump into my swap.

i would just go to advance and rent it... then you get your money back... im from the salem area and i know of a local guy that did his truck... turned out very clean i have cell phone pics of it

I may try the ball joint press from advance just thought maybe there was a shop around that offers a service like that at a reasonable price. I have read posts where guys said the press was easy and others say take it to a shop.........

I would rent the tool, and grab some friends and beer and an afternoon and have at it.

I think a shop is gonna charge u a good price to do it because it'll tie someone up for half a shift or so (with no complications)

no press needed but having/renting the tool is a godsend. I did a side on a dana 44 in about 2 hrs start to finish with no prior experience.

What the heck, I will try the tool and see how it goes. The Dana 60 came out of a 93 F350 and is fairly clean so shouldn't be to big of a pain getting the ball joints out.. Thanks for the advice....

GOT UR DONE. what a piece of cake.. Got the press from advanced auto and went really well. Installed the new spicer ball joints and then used it to press out the u-joints in the axle shafts and best part is cost me less than $10 for gas to and from parts store.
