Front cover & oil pan come off and the reluctor wheel is then accessible. It is just a huge pain in the a$$ to have to remove everything and pull the motor in order to get to it. This motor has a billet main girdle attached to the lower end of the block to add rigidity thus making it impossible to do the swap with the motor in the truck.
For head porting I would recommend Greg Jones in Farmington. For head repair just about any machine shop that can handle a valve job should do the trick. Make sure it is pressure tested either way.
