Not to sound like a duech bag or anything, but i dont think they are going for all out power and what ppl like us would see as cool, i think it is more of an economy and reliability thing, the day that honda even makes a truck capable of handling a CTD or somthing along those lines is when one of the Big three companies takes them over, and i dont see that happening in the near future, From a canadian/drag racers point of view, we here at the tracks in Canada are getting alot of flack from the tree huggers and our government to stop using gaoline and go a little "greener" so as far as im concerned if everyone gets somthing like this for a daily driver that is not into rigs like ours it would take some of the heat off of us who spend a lot of time a the race track. Our main race track here in British Columbia ( Mission Raceway Park Homepage) is under alot of pressure to close thier doors, and they keep getting taxed, and taxed to the point of not being able to afford to open the doors. So im of the oppinion that if there is another product out there that will reduce vehicle emmisions and use less gasoline, maybe they would get a little brething room and we could all enjoy things here a little more. Sorry for the long read but thats just my 2 pennies.

clif, nice one man

and silver ram, I see where you are coming from. I do feel that honda coming out with a diesel engine is another step in people seeing that clean diesel technology is going to be a way of the future, because honda is a big name in the world auto manufacturing scene. I also do think that if honda or toyota comes out with a diesel/electric hybrid, it will be an awesome thing.

i am all for smoke and whatnot though at the same time its not like i smoke everyone on the road, but i do still get people waving thier hands in front of their faces when i do smoke em. i mainly do it to people who get too close to me on the road. i dont do it just because i can or cause i want to pollute the environment.

oh, and clif, i think canada does have pennies, they are the ones you get once or twice a year that have infiltrated our monetary system, that the cashiers fail to notice the difference and end up giving us change thats $.009 rather than $.01 in value.
