Default NERVOUS New 6.4 Powerstroke Owner!!

Hello all I am new to this forum. To make it short I recently traded in my 2005 mustang gt for a 2008 6.4 F250 with 40,000 miles on it. The second day I had it it was in the shop because I found an oil spot in my driveway, and also noticed it leaking from underneath. The dealer took care of it and the Tech said it was oil spilled from an oil change. If thats the case or not I don't know but I have had it for two days since taking it in and everything seems dry and fine. This promped me to go online and do a little research about the 6.4. Well after research I am pretty dam nervous to drive my new truck Lots of horror stories out there!! I have always been a Chevy guy and should have went with my gut and got the DMAX but I got a good deal on the 6.4 and who in the hell expects to buy a newer truck and be faced with potential problems like this!! I bought my dang chevy 1500 new in 2000 and still have it! Never had one problem other than a replaced fuel pump due to running it on low fuel and I have beat that truck up. I was expecting nothing less from this 6.4, but after being in a rental the second day after ownership and reading about the problems it has I have already put it on craigslist for sale I love everything about the 6.4 (Other than potential problems) but I want to be confident while driving my truck! If I get what I want for the powerstroke I will be getting a DMAX being as it seems they are quite more reliable. Am I making the right decision? Or can I make this 6.4 reliable? Thank you

We'll I spoke with Aaron and I have a new found confidence in my truck!! Aaron was really freindly and willing to answer all of my questions I had a lot of questions and I will share what I got in case anyone wants to know. He said the EGR delete isn't a major priority on this truck as it was with the 6.0. Basically it's a good mod to do but not necissary if you still have the 100,000 mile in effect. He said after 100,000 go ahead and do it. I ordered the ERG delete plates anyways. Also, when doing the DPF delete its good to go ahead and delete the cat aswell being as the cat can clog up the system overtime too(Your under there so might as well take the cat out too and deleting the cat makes the install easier). The cat and DPF equpied on this truck is basically like having a corkscrew in a pipe and trying to blow throw it (Something like that ), and can cause some problems so eliminating the DPF and CAT gives you a lot more reliable truck, it will finally be able to breath!!! I read somewhere on here where someone stated to do 14 quarts of oil when doing and oil change. Rudy's said that for the 7.3 6.0 and 6.4, they all get 15 quarts of oil when doing oil change (Part number for motorcraft oil filter is FL5018.) Also, change fuel filters every other oil change and do oil change every 5,000 miles along with draining water seperator every month I'm sure most of you know all this information but for a noob into the diesal world like me this is a lot. All in all I ordered the mini max, S and B CAI, DPF/CAT Delete, and ERG delete plates The price was $1,500 for everything, not bad IMO. I Can't wait to get this stuff and get it on the truck!
