If you want to haul kids on long trips or adults in the back seat on a regular basis, then Megacab is the way to go...the leg room is bizarre, and the rear seats recline for one of the most luxurious backseats ever. I have 3 kids and we use the Mega for all of our trips and there is tons of room for the kids and all of their 'road gear'. Another big feature of the Mega is a huge storage area behind the rear seats where I can store all my work gear and still use the back seat for sitting on. With the quad I had to always unload my work gear to haul the kids.

Mileage, Power, tons of room, Megacab would be my choice, but I did drive a few Chevs this year as all our company trucks are chevs and they do have a nicer cab and interior features, but I use my truck for work, and I have had great success with the Dodge standing up in the oilfield.

to tell you the truth i really dont know what i want. i like the chevy because of its crewcab size and the 8ft bed..i really like the megacab but i dont like the 6 foot bed. i know get the longbed conversion. sorry but i just dont have that kinda money. the truck will be towing a 30ft travel trailer. or my boggin truck on a 30ft gooseneck trailer. neither of which are light my boggin truck alone will be in the 10,000 to 12,000 lb range. now for offroading the truck will see a field till the boggin truck gets unloaded. and as for long trips on the highway....yep.

The Dodge will hold up just as well for OTR trucking. We have an 06 QC Long Bed 1ton 4x4 that has over 140K miles, without any problems. Plus it gets better mileage than any of the other hotshotters trucks I know of, and I know plenty of them. The MMM from Quadzilla helped a bit, but even still, the thing drives like new. We're towing a 26 or 32 ft Gooseneck filled with hay, horses, or a combination of the two, and the trailer has weighed up to 22K lbs on a few trips. As long as your easy on it your fine. We also take this truck out on the beaches down in Florida...while its no Dune machine it'll hold its own as long as all 6 tires are deflated.

What will you be NEEDING. Do you NEED Cab space? or Do you NEED an 8ft bed? Thats what it will boil down to. If you can get away with a 6.5' bed, get the Mega, it'll tow great, and have tons of room for the family. If you have to have the 8 footer, then you'll probably want a GMC or Chevy, but you'll miss the extra cab space.

Go out and drive them! Thats how I made up my mind!
