Default Push Button Start?

I bought this push button start that goes where the cigarette light goes. It looked cool so I got it. Is there going to be a problem wireing this up? I guess it just gets spliced in to the starter wire from the ignition switch. Any thoughts???

gonna be pretty hard on a 06 im guessing, the way i did it on my 95 v10 truck is that i used the key switch to power up everything, then put a wire from one terminal to a button and then to the other terminal, she started, my ignition switch wouldnt work though.....

There are some legal issues here if your trucks ever stolen and recovered. I know odds are slim but sure wouldn't be any fun if insurance decided they weren't payin up because it was found out. I've done it on old beaters I didn't care about. I just broke they key in the ignition on them.

the truck wont fire unless the keys are powering the selenoid, push button just jumps the gap instead of the selenoid turning it on, unless you crawl under it and power the selenoid externally, and if ya did that you still got to get around the steering wheel lock....

I would leave the key switch intact and wire it so that the key had to be in the ign and in the on position for the thing to start, you would just take the wire that is hot when the key is in the start position and cut it run it to the push button along with splicing into the wire thats hot when the key is on and running it to the button

That's what I'd do right there. Piece of cake.

Now.... you got a link or something of where you found that????

Ok, I'm a little slow ya know. Then what is the purpose of the push button starter if it you still have to have the key in it to start it.

Looks mainly but it's 1 extra button that you get to push.
