Default What are the Pros and Cons of each truck?

Ok not trying to start a major fight between brands. But after searching for a while and coming up empty handed, I want to know what are the Pros and Cons of each truck and motor.

What I know is Dodge rides the worse, auto trannies don`t hold extra power to well and the injectors are picky on the CR. Chevy rides great but the IFS seems to have issues as well as the Allision with extra power (limp mode). Fords have best bodies and the 6.0 was probomatic (not sure why though). So what else can you add?

Dodge doesn't ride the worst, but that is my opinion, my suspension is never left stock anyway, and a lot of the answers to the questions you have asked are opinion based, the dodge auto transmissions don't hold up to extra power in stock form, in modified form they're some of the best out there, IFS does have some issues on the chevy when modified, it's a $95 fix though, the Allison is arguably the best stock transmission out there and I know people running close to 500+hp on a completely stock Allison, how long it will hold? that's anyone's guess, the 6.0 was a problem child because it had quite a few emissions control items on it and not a whole lot of research done into making it reliable, head gaskets, egr cooler, oil cooler and turbo where all problems on these trucks though some people never had problems and i wouldn't hesitate to own a 6.0 but be aware of the problems that could and will happen when modifying all of them

I knew each truck had issues (even the 5.9 I will be getting once I get state side) I just never knew the specifics of each

If you don't add a PROGRAMMER on the 6.0, you'll be ok, but you have to get a AFTERMARKET EGR for the 6.0

kind of a hard question to answer... lot of it is opinion...

DODGE
5.9l - longest lasting, fairly basic and easy to work on
tranny will tank in no time if hp is added, dash will crack, and the worst interior by far.

6.7 - very quiet, lots of technology
so much emmissions crap you will spend your budget just removing it all

12v - the most basic and easy to work on truck period. everything is mechanical and easy to make power, but you can only go so far with no electronics.

Chevy
6.6 - great engine, tend to have injector problems for the earlier years but still agood engine
allison is great, but every tranny needs to be upgraded eventually, BEST INTERIOR! but made by isuzu

FORD
6.0 - Most problematic diesel engine, would not recomend unless you plan on fixing iit a lot

7.3 - Awsome engine! built strong, long lasting, and the sturdiest chassy of them all!

Im gonna throw my vote on the Torqshift for best stock auto tranny, with Allison second I think if you hit close to 500hp on a stock Allison, you're going to need at least a Transgo Jr., while they have completely stock Torqshifts handling nearly 600 RWHP.

best trucks in my opinion? LBZ or LMM Dmax, 7.3 Powerstroke, and 12v Cummins

well that pretty much leaves just dodge, they're the only ones that still offer a manual and i think the g56 in the newer trucks is ok, i don't know much about manuals though

Shifting gets old to me after a while, its nice to just get in and go, and I never worry about blowing a shift

Chevy stopped offering manuals in 06 I believe, but its nearly impossible to find a ZF6 manual behind a Dmax 01-05. They made a few of them, but they're pretty rare.

Ford offered manuals in their diesels all the way up til 2011 with the 6.7. Really the 7.3 (94-03) is the only one thats is fairly easy to find a manual in, they put a few ZF6's behind 6.0's (03-07), and put virtually none, but a few, behind the 6.4 (08-10).

Its gonna be pretty easy to find a handshaker in just about any year of Dodge. But I think the general rule is, the newer the truck model, the less manual's and more auto's you will find. People just don't seem to want them as much anymore.
