dont waste your money. its not the best. overcrowded too. save your cash and find a school near you. the money you save from not going to yo-tetch , you can go to a same, if not better education and have money to live in a apartment. most comm.coll. offer a aas degree instead of the cert. youd get at wyo. the asm doesnt offer the degree anymore either

went there in 07-08. i liked the fact that i got the education in 9 months instead of two years. after i graduated, i had a job. the downside is the $20,000 school loan. the town is a college town, but i thought it sucked.

I was looking into going to UTI's Pheonix campus for Diesel tech, is Wyo-tech a better school?

Sorry if this is kinda a repeat will try not to do that. I just graduated in december. The school is all what you put into it.I took the ASM class, diesel, and chassis fabrication. my partake on the classes were good. ASM was kinda boring because you do not get to do any hands on learning but i look at that i got a degree. and as far as i remember they still offer the degree if complete all the requirements in regards to the above quote. The diesel class as it was put early in the thread was it teaches you the basics this is correct. but you learn some interesting stuff there to. Advanced diesel is where it will teach you alot they lecture for about two week and then let you go to work fixing a big rig they bring in and you go from headlight to mud flap going over what you learned in diesel. Chassis fabrication to me was beneficial only because it gave me the opportunity to weld and hone in on my skills, and gives you a good understanding of the chassis side of a vehicle. my opinion on the town was it is smaller but another college is there so that helps. but that also means more cops so i would take it easy. it fit me i like the smaller town feel. yeah the price up there but it is one of the most known schools and everytime they had a speaker come in wheather it was a trucking company or the marines they always told us that they would rather take someone from wyotech than an another school. they also help you get a job when you are in school. Also once you have graduated. i am by no means sitting here bragging about the shool but my experience was good and felt it was for the better. if you have anymore questions feel free to ask. good luck

I am attending Lincoln College of Technology in Indy right now for heavy duty diesel and truck. I am wont say the school sucks but for me if i had it to do all over i would most definetly switch my decision around and do a little more thinking.

well i guess i'll throw my $0.02 in i got a buddy up at NADC here in TN right now but he's going for collision and he's told me that the diesel program up there is insane and that the instructors really know there stuff but it gets turned into a bunch up grab assin because you'll get those guys in there that are just there cus they got nothing else to do and don't really care but then again he also said that the guys that go there in the morning time are usually there to actually learn and your also in Nashvages so there will be plenty to do. but in the end it all comes up to what you want to do

I was out in Cheyenne for 3 years in the Air Force, and I will have to say that there is nothing in Cheyenne or Laramie. However, being the outdoor enthusiast that I am, i loved it! Went up to Medicine Bow several hundred times hunting and fourwheeling. There is also a place between Cheyenne and Laramie called Vedawoo?? (spelling) National park where all of my buddies and I went to take our truck to go four wheeling. Its real fun in the snow but dont go by yourself. You get stuck up there without help your done. I remember seeing a truck stuck up there all winter till spring came and melted all of the snow. Lots of hunting out there as well. Most ranchers will let you hunt on their property, but all in all, I had a blast out there.

I took the course up there and honestly for how much i paid i am not impressed by what they taught. So i recommend a smaller school or at least one not as expensive. Maybe UTI
