Exhaust Question
I've been thinking about and was wondering: Could you get the same performance by replacing your factory muffler with and after market one rather than buying a 4" turbo back system?
This of coarse is if you remove the cat, muffler and resonator and replace all of it with just an after market muffler.
I want better exhaust flow, sound and performance but hate to pay several hundred dollars for an exhaust system if I could it for a fraction of the cost by just replacing the muffler.
Also I don't care about having a loud truck and want as little drone as possible.

Won't be much worse than with an aftermarket "muffler".
The Mufflerectomy method is by far the cheapest option with the best cost:results. To do the system on my cars cost $24 each, yours would be a little higher having to buy larger diameter pipe.

My truck had the "straight pipe" conversion done, if you will call it that. Same size pipe as factory and it produced much more drone than my MBRP 5" does now, I do have the muffler installed.
