Default Trading In My 'Ol 96 Ford F350 NEED HELP!!

Okay guys and gals here it is. I have been driving this 1996 Ford Powerstroke F-350 for about 7 years. I bought it used when there was 70000 miles on it and now it had 289000 miles.I did make a few mods to the truck such as a computer module, downpipe, K&N filter, and took off the converter. The truck also has 355 gears and is 2 wheel drive. I currently get 15mpg pulling my 28ft enclosed race car trailer, and I have gotten 21 mpg on the highway empty. I am wanting a new 2007-08 diesel truck but I am unsure of which one to get.I am also considering a 4 wheel drive and was curious in the differences (I have never owned a 4 wheel drive before) I have heard a few pros and cons on all makes but would like some more unbiased opinions. I will say I drove a 06 Dodge while also pulling my trailer and was very impressed. I would like to here more about teh fuel mileage and power from all of the Diesel trucks. Thanks in advance. Lets Hear it!!

Welcome to Diesel Bombers!! I personally like Gm ,but don't think any of the big three are a bad truck. If it were me I would either buy a 06-07 Chevy or dodge with the 5.9 or the 6.6LBZ or wait a couple of years to see what all bugs need to be worked out. I would never buy the ford, not because it is a bad truck, it is just that when I buy a truck that cost this much I plan to own it after the warranty runs out and the ford 6.4 requires the cab to be lifted to do any significant repairs to the engine. I have heard of a few little quirks with the 6.7( nothing major yet) and have not really heard of anything with the GM LMM as of yet. On the 4x4 it just makes sense to me to get it and not need it as to not get it and need it, generally you will get most of the extra money out of it at resale. hope this helps.
