Default A BMW-engined 'clean diesel' police car

This thing will look insane and being powered by a diesel motor makes it even better.

Carbon Motors? Proof they are simply scammers jumping on the "environmental" bandwagon hoping to get a little government coin for themselves.

No intelligent fleet manager would by a bunch of cars from an unknown manufacturer with no dealer network, no parts network, no mechanic training program and a questionable future.

And also not to mention they are being built in the United States. Connersville Indiana to be more specific. But they seem pretty serious tons of press releases on this car.

High exposure is necessary when trying to get large slice of the enviro-scam pie.

I guess you do have a point but I still would find it neat to see police cars using diesels in something so small and not a large SUV or truck. It does has a pretty mean look to it in the front.

Then move to the UK or Europe.

American police need speed and power for the open highways. That little BMW isn't going to do 0-60 in 6.5 seconds after its had 1500lbs of necessary police equipment added; weaponry, communications equipment, push bar, door guards, prisoner partition, etc. None of which I see in their prototype.

Yah but its a shame to see police funding even getting cut in Chicago to the point where there won't be any state troopers policing the highways that run through it. The police force can even seem to stay afloat with what they have now yet alone trying to maintain a Lamborghini or some kind of performance car to pull over those speeders you speak of. There is MPH restrictions for when an officer should pursuit to not endanger other drivers

Anything in the Charger lower than a 5.7L Hemi would be a waste of time. And the 5.7L offering anywhere from 9-15mpgs city isn't what they're looking for either.. They just upgraded all their police fleet to Suburbans around here.. Not sure why but the Crown Vics are outdated here.

...9-15mpg and 368hp is unacceptable in a car, so they buy SUV's that are much slower and get worse mileage? What was your point again?
