Default exhaust sound

Hey all, I've got 98.5 quadcab 2500 dodge and right now I,ve got 4 inch straight exhaust from the turbo back. I was think about putting 6 inch stacks with just an angle cut, i was wondering if the exhaust noise in the cab increased being that close to the cab. I was going to have them about 3 to 4 inches above the cab. I like the way my truck sounds now but i think it is to loud will the stacks make it quieter? Thanks for any info

Well you're right, by putting a larger system on and running it right up behind you're cab the noise is going to be worse. I had a 98 with the 12 valve that was super loud like what you're talking about. I found the best way to lose the noise some was by putting a turn down exhaust tip on. I found it worked very well, it looks a little redneck but that's what I am so it works for me.
