clutch problems

Default clutch problems

i have a 94 cummins and every time i press the clutch in, it makes a squeal but when i let off it dont do it any more. planning on calling the shop in the morning but didnt know if anyone had any ideas of what it could be. thanks!

sounds like your throw out bearing is going out or needs greased it doesnt act any different other than the noise

everything else seems to be fine... how do you grease the throwout bearing? and where is it located?

on the bottom of your bell housing there should be an inspection plate that has some small bolts or screws holding it in placepull that and look inside and throw out bearing should be the first thing you see behind the clutch assemblyand there should be a grease zert on it

alright ill check it out in the morning and hopefully it just needs greased... thanks alot! ill get back tom an let you know what i find out..

i looked at the truck and there is no plate at the back of the bell housing to remove. the guy i bought the truck off of went to wyo tech and is goin to look at it this weekend

is this noise coming from the cab only? will it make the noise with the engine off? because i have a similiar squeak and i know its my clutch master cylinder.

no when the truck is off it dont do anything. you can hear it in cab and outside the truck

Its your throw out bearing and its not serviceable. Once its shot its shot. How old is your clutch? If you think you may be near the end of life on the clutch may want to replace it since the transmission is going to have to come out. New clutch kits from South Bend come with a new throw out bearing.
