As well, resting your hand on the shifter is a big no no....both drag racing type shifts and resting your hand on the shifter **** is real hard on the synchros.

Well your sync's are going south, bad thing about the NV5600 is parts are getting scarse and expensive. I know a rebuilt trans is now between $2900-$3800 depending on were you look. If you have a good friend that can do it or you can do it your self it would be alot cheaper. My 4500 was just went through Saturday and cost me $850. All my parts came from www.standardtransmission.com. I have a 4500 in mine and had to put in a new input, countershaft, bearings, syncs and a few other parts. I also am running aimsoil in it now.

It cost me $850 all my parts and labor to tear it down and rebuild it. I pulled it out of the truck, took it to a friend of mine that runs a small diesel shop. We tore it down on Tuesday so he could order parts of Wed. Parts came in Friday night at almost 8:00 and the trans was together at 4:00 saturday afternoon. I had it in Saturday night by 9:00 and on the road. I already had a Southbend Con Fe in it so I just left it. It would have cost me $1900 for trans and new clutch.

Just so everyone knows when I contacted Dan at Quad 4X4 he had none of the parts I needed and didnt know were to find them at that time.

With the NV5600 becoming more and more rare, that almost makes me wish I'd bought an auto. So, what happens if the trans dies after warranty is up? If I take it to the dodge dealer, will they just replace it with the G56?

Just my oppinion here but I think as many NV56's that are out there that someone will pick up on the needed parts and start makin aftermarket parts for us
